Vowels (cardinal vowel diagram; differences between Polish and English vowels; front, central and back<br />

vowels)<br />

Diphtongs (main difficulties in diphtong pronunciation)<br />

Consonants (division on the basis of place of articulation)<br />

Weak forms (reduction of vowels, fast speech)<br />

Accent (word, phrase, sentence)<br />

Intonation (falling, rising, falling-rising, rising-falling)<br />

Student knows the system of English sounds and is able to use it in various contexts<br />

Student can use phonetic transcription on a word level<br />

Student works at correct pronunciation on a sentence level and pays particular attention to the linkings of words<br />

in sentences, accent and intonation<br />
