The Witelon University of Applied Sciences in Legnica - Field: Administration<br />

Administration of Public Security and Order<br />

The graduates of the field of Administration in specialization of Administration of Public<br />

Security and Order possess general knowledge of social study, particularly studies of law and<br />

administration as well as elementary knowledge of economics. They can use this knowledge in their<br />

professional work and know how to apply rules of ethics. They are prepared for clerical jobs in<br />

various kinds of public administration – both governmental as well as local – and applying<br />

regulations in nonpublic institutions. The graduates are ready for independent self-<strong>im</strong>provement<br />

and development of their knowledge and skills along with the progress of integration processes in<br />

Europe. The graduates are able to solve occupational problems, have the ability to communicate<br />

with their surroundings in a workplace, to use efficiently different means of information and office<br />

equipment, to take an active part in group work and to organize and manage little teams. The<br />

graduates can independently work in institutions of local government, public administration<br />

authorities and everywhere that the knowledge of administrative law, procedures and proceedings<br />

as well as the ability of their interpretation is required. To complement their specialist knowledge<br />

students learn a foreign language at the Council of Europe level B2 with special regard to<br />

specialized vocabulary of administration, law and economics. The graduates are ready to start<br />

second grade studies.<br />

Students graduating from this specialization understand and can analyze occurrences related<br />

to global, national, regional or local security. They know the matters of internal safety and<br />

particularly legal regulations referring to this area.<br />

The graduate of this specialization is prepared for working in:<br />

1) government authorities and local administration;<br />

2) national and international institutions and organizations;<br />

3) European Community authorities;<br />

4) enterprises cooperating with EU countries;<br />

5) enterprises of public utility;<br />

6) communal maintenance services and municipal guard services;<br />

7) organizational units of state services responsible for internal security of state.<br />
