Public Administration
The graduates of the field of Administration in specialization of Public Administration
possess general knowledge of social study, particularly studies of law and administration as well as
elementary knowledge of economics. They can use this knowledge in their professional work and
know how to apply rules of ethics. They are prepared for clerical jobs in various kinds of public
administration – both governmental as well as local – and applying regulations in nonpublic
institutions. The graduates are ready for independent self-improvement and development of their
knowledge and skills along with the progress of integration processes in Europe. The graduates are
able to solve occupational problems, have the ability to communicate with their surroundings in a
workplace, to use efficiently different means of information and office equipment, to take an active
part in group work and to organize and manage little teams. The graduates can independently work
in institutions of local government, public administration authorities and everywhere that the
knowledge of administrative law, procedures and proceedings as well as the ability of their
interpretation is required. To complement their specialist knowledge students learn a foreign
language at the Council of Europe level B2 with special regard to specialized vocabulary of
administration, law and economics. The graduates are ready to start second grade studies.
The graduates of vocational studies of Public Administration after having completed the
studies are professionally qualified, possess proper knowledge of legal rules, their interpretation and
application. They are prepared for solving problems of organizations and teamwork. They have
high social aptitude and ethical standards. The students learn to solve problems independently and
identify with an ethos of administration worker. Any administration worker that has been educated
in The Witelon Higher Vocational State School in Legnica is well-qualified to work in any
institution and knows how to represent the administration that he or she works in.
The graduate of this specialization is prepared for working in:
1) government authorities and local administration;
2) national and international institutions and organizations;
3) European Community authorities;
4) enterprises cooperating with EU countries;
5) enterprises of public utility;
6) communal companies;
7) institutions managing entrusted property.
