- text analysis (formal, informal and semi-formal style ); key sentences<br />

- paragraph structure: key sentence, the development of the key sentence (quotation, example,<br />

statistical data)<br />

- Multi-paragraph texts: title, introduction, main body, summary<br />

- Informal and formal letter : a) a letter of request; b) a letter of information<br />

4. Learning outcomes<br />

Students will be able to grasp promptly the gist of a variety of written texts as well as producing coherent written<br />

compositions of their own. They will learn how to formulate thoughts in writing and construct coherent texts<br />

consisting of 4 to 5 paragraphs. They will also develop their ability to create complex sentences with the use<br />

of sophisticated vocabulary.<br />
