Thematic scope of the course:<br />

− Business invitation to a restaurant (in a letter or a phone call)<br />

− “Savoir a vivre” at the table, indicating seating places to the guests, reacting to news, providing information about<br />

eating habits<br />

− analysis of graph data, describing a graph (demography, economy, consumption, trade)<br />

− selling a product and trade fair service: presentation, giving opinion, providing precise information about the<br />

product or service<br />

− telephone or mail contact with a business partner: enquiry, request, offer<br />

− formal elements of a business letter<br />

− salutation and closing formula in private and business correspondence<br />

− selected forms of commercial correspondence<br />

− filling in a form, phrases typical for forms<br />

− names of goods and services<br />

4. Learning outcomes<br />

The student acquires language abilities at one of the levels (A1-B2; depends on the language competence exam results). The<br />

student can describe selected professional situations, compare and discuss survey results, analyze tables, charts, statistics,<br />

provide main information presented in the professional texts. The student can present individual opinion and argument it.<br />

He acquires language skills needed in the cooperation with foreign business partners in the field of General English as well<br />

as acquires sufficient knowledge to pass TELC language examination (at appropriate level).<br />
