Interpersonal communication for engineers and managers<br />

2. Course contents<br />

1. Communication skills necessary for an engineer and manager. Roles performed by managers and engineers.<br />

Basic concepts of social communication.<br />

2. Assertive listening: types of listening, ineffective listening; how to <strong>im</strong>prove our listening.<br />

3. Principles for preparation of written information: memorandum, report, report, resume, cover letter.<br />

4. Principles and techniques of preparation and presentation of self-presentation of audio and visual aids. The<br />

types of technical measures. preparation of illustrative material and methods of their use.<br />

5. Presentations and self-presentations. The rules and tips for public speaking: presentation of yourself, company,<br />

product, an occasion: opening of celebrations, galas, weddings, funerals, etc.<br />

6. Conversations missions: with subordinates, superiors, qualification, and in business. The One Minute Manager.<br />

7. Conducting meetings, conferences, meetings: types of meetings, organization meetings, conducting meetings.<br />

The basic personality types at the meetings.<br />

8. Communicating in a culturally different foreign languages, laws and customs, circumstances: travel, exhibition<br />

and trade fairs.<br />

9. Interpersonal communication in conditions of conflict: types of conflict and how their intensity behavior.<br />

10. The rules of behavior in the case of recorded instances of (broadcast) radio and television.<br />

11. Public Relations: basic elements, contacts with media, conferences, press releases, tips for dealing with media.<br />

Prerequisites<br />

Ability to use word-processing and computer graphics.<br />

4. Learning outcomes<br />

Listeners are able to understand the nature and <strong>im</strong>portance of parent communication in the present world. Students can<br />

prepare, through various media, <strong>im</strong>prove communication to individuals and groups of people. They can analyze,<br />

evaluate and constructively criticize the messages addressed to them. They will gain basic skills in working with media.<br />
