1. Course title<br />

Technical infrastructure for logistics<br />

2. Course contents<br />

Lecture<br />

Packaging in logistic systems (package functions, d<strong>im</strong>ensioning, technical packaging parameters, packaging materials).<br />

Automatic identification for logistic applications part I (bar code, EAN 13, EAN 128, PDF 417, ITF, complex codes,<br />

matrix codes, logistic labels, standard identifiers applications). Automatic identification for logistic applications part II<br />

(electronic cards, magnetic cards, transponders, biometric verification and person identification, e-signature).<br />

Warehouse infrastructure (basic zones, zone pick sequences, warehouse types and classification, storage technology,<br />

localization and location problems, ABC and XYZ methods). Materials handling (stock resources, trucks, trolleys,<br />

automated guide vehicles, material handling resources, performance, resource planning, stock control methods and<br />

techniques)<br />

Classes<br />

Working with selected application programs. Analysis of infrastructural solutions based on the examples of up-to –date<br />

warehouse. Assumption for the design of stock space with given capacity calculation of the number of fork vehicles for<br />

a warehouse with given rotation stock. Indicator method of logistic centers design.<br />

4. Learning outcomes<br />

Students know to apply the methods of projecting the warehouses, to count the basic coefficients and index of the<br />

quality and performance. Students should know choose the suitable methods of transportation and the fittings of the<br />

warehouse.<br />

The objective is to provide the basic engineering knowledge (technology, equipment) with respect to the application of<br />

different methods and techniques for future logistic professional activities, for design, planning and exploitation of<br />

logistic systems.<br />
