Industrial power engineering<br />

2. Course contents<br />

Lecture<br />

Fuels consumption and energy utilization. Material and energy balance. Quality analysis and thermal processes<br />

<strong>im</strong>provement by means of pinch method. Energetic and economic characteristics, and energy demand distribution.<br />

Combined thermal processes and their modernization. Waste energy utilization. Assessment of efficiency of energy<br />

utilization in industry. Linear model of enterprise energy management. Auditing principles in thermal management.<br />

Classes<br />

Determination of efficiency of energetic processes; est<strong>im</strong>ation of influence of energy conversion technology on natural<br />

environment; evaluation of modernization effects of energetic processes in selected branches of industry (e.g.<br />

metallurgy, mining industry, ceramics industry); est<strong>im</strong>ation of economical effects of energy recovery in selected<br />

industrial processes.<br />

None<br />

4. Learning outcomes<br />

Skills in formulating main problems related to correct operation of enterprise energy management. Basic knowledge<br />

about realization of power engineering processes, waste energy utilization and efficiency of this processes.<br />
