1. Course title<br />

Geometry and the engineering graphics I<br />

2. Course contents<br />

1. Prel<strong>im</strong>inary messages: kinds of pictures, sheets, kinds and thicknesses of the line and drawing materials.<br />

2. Basic notions of the descriptive geometry. Throws: centre (prospect), parallel oblique (axonometry), Monge<br />

throws.<br />

3. Normal layout of rectangular groups (European method). Examples of projecting elements about the different<br />

degree of the complexity.<br />

4. Sections and detail section of elements of machines.<br />

5. Bases of d<strong>im</strong>ensioning of objects: elements of drawing d<strong>im</strong>ensions, principles of d<strong>im</strong>ensioning, ways of<br />

d<strong>im</strong>ensioning of characteristic elements.<br />

6. Of tolerating d<strong>im</strong>ensions and fitting. Tolerance of the shape and the location. Surface roughness.<br />

7. Structural pictures of typical elements: screw joints, rollers, wheels and transmission gears, sliding and rolling<br />

bearings.<br />

8. Assembly drawing - of deciphering the principle and making out<br />

9. Principles of making out schemes of submitted technical arrangements in different areas of engineering:<br />

plumbing, electronic, electric and thermal installations.<br />

10. Interpenetrating of rotational and nonrotational lumps and developing them.<br />

4. Learning outcomes<br />

Purchasing the ability of presenting spatial geometrical works (parts of machines and the structure) on the plain and of<br />

making out schemes and reading technical drawings from different areas of the technique.<br />
