2. Course contents<br />

Lecture<br />

Elements of linear algebra: matrices, determinants, systems of linear equations and inequalities, basic methods of<br />

solving systems of linear equations and inequalities, the Gaussian algorithm, an application of matrix analysis in<br />

economics and management.<br />

Differential calculus of functions of one variable: basic methods of determination of a l<strong>im</strong>it of a function, continuity of<br />

a function, derivative of a function and its economical interpretation; basic theorems of differential calculus, an<br />

application in solving opt<strong>im</strong>ization problems, an investigation of economical functions.<br />

Integral calculus of functions of one variable: basic notions, basic methods of determination of indefinite and definite<br />

integrals, an application of integral calculus in economics, geometry and statistics.<br />

Basics of theory of functions of several real variables: a function of two or several variables, partial derivatives,<br />

differentiability of a function, extrema, applications in economics and management.<br />

Differential and difference equations - applications in economics and management.<br />

Classes<br />

Solving of computational problems from the following area: operations on matrices, computing of determinants of<br />

matrices, methods of solving systems of linear equations and inequalities, determination of a l<strong>im</strong>it of a function,<br />

determination of derivatives of first and higher orders of a function, computation of indeterminate l<strong>im</strong>its of functions,<br />

investigation of extrema and a convexity of a function, investigation of properties of a function, determination of<br />

indefinite and definite integrals.<br />

None.<br />

4. Learning outcomes<br />

Students apply elements of mathematical analysis and linear algebra in description and analysis of basic problems in<br />

economics and management.<br />
