Mathematics
2. Course contents
Lecture
Elements of linear algebra: matrices, determinants, systems of linear equations and inequalities, basic methods of
solving systems of linear equations and inequalities, the Gaussian algorithm, an application of matrix analysis in
economics and management.
Differential calculus of functions of one variable: basic methods of determination of a limit of a function, continuity of
a function, derivative of a function and its economical interpretation; basic theorems of differential calculus, an
application in solving optimization problems, an investigation of economical functions.
Integral calculus of functions of one variable: basic notions, basic methods of determination of indefinite and definite
integrals, an application of integral calculus in economics, geometry and statistics.
Basics of theory of functions of several real variables: a function of two or several variables, partial derivatives,
differentiability of a function, extrema, applications in economics and management.
Differential and difference equations - applications in economics and management.
Classes
Solving of computational problems from the following area: operations on matrices, computing of determinants of
matrices, methods of solving systems of linear equations and inequalities, determination of a limit of a function,
determination of derivatives of first and higher orders of a function, computation of indeterminate limits of functions,
investigation of extrema and a convexity of a function, investigation of properties of a function, determination of
indefinite and definite integrals.

4. Learning outcomes
Students apply elements of mathematical analysis and linear algebra in description and analysis of basic problems in
economics and management.
