Sori and its sunny beach. Set in an inlet of
the Paradiso Gulf surrounded by steep cliffs
and a background of green hills, Sori’s tall
frescoed houses, brief promenade,
swimming-pool, pebbled beach, fishing
boats, and excellent seaside facilities make
this a perfect place to spend a sunny day.
Recco, more than just focaccia. Rebuilt
after the bombings of the Second World
War, Recco, was awarded the Gold Medal
for Civil Valour, and its historical maritime
features are still intact today.
The completely restored, bustling seaside
promenade Italia, with its ice-cream
parlours and street cafés, frames the
Olympic pool, small quay and beach with
its lidos. Every year, during the second half
of July, the Festa del Mare (Sea Festival) is
held; an event which involves all the local
amateur fishing groups as well as other
local associations, and which organizes,
amongst other activities, a clean up of the
sea floor.
