unique Italian metropolitan wine, as its vineyards
extend over the Coronata hill located within the
Genoese border. It was first produced in 1535 and
since 1983 its production has been in the hands of
the Valpolcevera Coronata Viticulturists
A tuber from afar. The Quarantina Bianca Genovese
potato arrived in Genoa from America towards the
end of the eighteenth century. It has now become
widespread in Genoa and the surrounding areas. A
homonymous Consortium of over 50 growers was
formed in order to promote the irregular smooth
trenette al pesto, tripe and cod. The Festival of the
quarantine potato, organized in the Corsiglia
woods at Roccatagliata, in the vicinity of Neirone, is
held on the penultimate Sunday of August and at
Rovegno on the first Sunday of October. It is more
