Lady Jean Skipwith (? – 1826), wife of Sir Peyton Skipwith, lived on the Dan River,<br />

Virginia, at their family home, Prestwould. Her <strong>Garden</strong> Notes of 1793 (published by the <strong>Garden</strong><br />

Club of Virginia in <strong>Garden</strong> Gossip, X, 1935, Nos. 2,m 4, and 6) revealed many of the plants grown<br />

in her garden.<br />
