UMAR COLONY INCIDENT - 31.7.92, the forces entered forceably <strong>in</strong>to the<br />
house <strong>of</strong> one Mehmood-ul-Hassan Farooqi at about 7 P.M and after enter<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the<br />
house, the BSF 30 Bn, Jawans and when they saw a young boy near the varandah<br />
shot at him, her mother heard the sound <strong>of</strong> gun shots, came out and begged before<br />
the forces not to kill her child Intiyaz-Ud-D<strong>in</strong>. The forces beat her with gun butts<br />
and forces fired some shots more <strong>in</strong> presence <strong>of</strong> her mother and he died on the<br />
spot. His elder brother Taj-Ud-D<strong>in</strong> also came out, the forces fired at him <strong>in</strong> the<br />
abdom<strong>in</strong> and killed him also. the forces did not spare the sisters <strong>of</strong> the deceased<br />
persons and beat them. Taj-Ud-D<strong>in</strong> could have been saved but the forces threatned<br />
the locals not to help. Family members <strong>of</strong> the deceased were cry<strong>in</strong>g but forces did<br />
not allow help to them. The grandfather <strong>of</strong> the deceased persons, namely, M.<br />
Yaqoob Qurashi after hear<strong>in</strong>g the sad news recieved a shock and died on the same<br />
day. An F.I.R no. 162/92 U/S 302 and 307 RPC has been registered aga<strong>in</strong>st the<br />
forces <strong>of</strong> BSF, which is pend<strong>in</strong>g disposal. Though valuable evidence as per the Dy.<br />
S.P Mr. Masood <strong>of</strong> P/S Nigeen has been collected but noth<strong>in</strong>g has come out till<br />
date.<br />
GULSHANNAGAR, NOWGAM, BADGAM INCIDENT - 16.8.92, the forces<br />
entered <strong>in</strong>to the house <strong>of</strong> one Gh. Mohd Khandy an old aged person at<br />
Gulshannagar dur<strong>in</strong>g even<strong>in</strong>g hours. When he came out <strong>in</strong> the garden with his<br />
hands up, the forces fired at him number <strong>of</strong> bullets and killed him. The foces on the<br />
road had dragged out two persons,namely Gh. Mohi-D<strong>in</strong> Driver and Bashir Ahmad<br />
Milk conductor <strong>of</strong> a tipper and killed them. The forces <strong>in</strong> a hostile manner killed<br />
the <strong>in</strong>nocent persons.<br />
BATAKOTE, HANDWARA INCIDENT - 30.9.92, the forces entered the said<br />
area, which is about 2 K.M. away from the place <strong>of</strong> occurrence, and started<br />
dragg<strong>in</strong>g people out <strong>of</strong> their homes. On protest <strong>of</strong> aged people, forces<br />
<strong>in</strong>discrim<strong>in</strong>ately fired at the young and old persons and killed seven male persons.<br />
When women raised hue and cry, the forces entered <strong>in</strong>to a house and fired bullets<br />
kill<strong>in</strong>g three women, namely, Mst. Khanam Begum 70 years, Mst. Shah Mali 40<br />
years, Mst. Saja Banoo 38 years. Besides them other persons killed were, M.<br />
Akbar Mir 48 years, Ab. Hamid Shah 35 years, M. Ramzan Shah 40 years, Khawja<br />
Gh. Rasool 50 years, Gh. Nabi Mochi, M. Abdullah Dar 50 years, and one<br />
unidentified persons. The forces also set ablaze 40 houses, 35 Kothars, 8 Cowsheds<br />
after spr<strong>in</strong>kl<strong>in</strong>g gun powder. The forces raped four ladies. One <strong>of</strong> the victim had<br />
given birth to a child just 48 days back. After the news broke out, number <strong>of</strong><br />
human right activists and journalists reached the spot. Next day D.C. and S.P<br />
Kupwara rushed on spot and a case F.I.R. no. 151/92 came to be registered under<br />
307, 380, 376 RPC. The case is still under <strong>in</strong>vestigation.<br />
SAKIDAFFAR INCIDENT - 30.9.92, the forces asked the locals to come out <strong>of</strong><br />
their houses and when two persons namely Gh. Nabi Mehajan aged 52 years and<br />
his son Ajaz Ahmad both residents <strong>of</strong> Sakidaffar, Sr<strong>in</strong>agar, <strong>of</strong> one family were<br />
com<strong>in</strong>g out, the forces pumped bullets at Ajaz Ahmad only because he was young.<br />
On protest by his father and mother, the forces also killed Gh. Nabi Mehajan a well<br />
known journalist and both were killed brutally on the spot.<br />
