started tak<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>to custody youth especially persons with beard. On this people<br />
raised slogans <strong>of</strong> freedom and aga<strong>in</strong>st the atrocities committed upon them dur<strong>in</strong>g<br />
the operation. When the situation went out <strong>of</strong> control <strong>of</strong> the forces they fired<br />
directly from close range on the unarmed people and killed one Mehraj-Ud-D<strong>in</strong><br />
Mir S/O Ab. Karim R/O Lasj<strong>in</strong> and <strong>in</strong>jured eight persons namely, Masood Ahmad,<br />
Bashir Ahmad Milk, Ab. Majid, Mohd. Akbar, Gh. Mohi-Ud-D<strong>in</strong> and Naseer<br />
Ahmad Dar who were declared to be serious by the doctors.<br />
ISLAMABAD INCIDENT - 26.12.93, the forces started <strong>in</strong>discrim<strong>in</strong>ate fir<strong>in</strong>g from<br />
a bunker made on the top <strong>of</strong> a hill near market. Due to this fir<strong>in</strong>g three persons<br />
<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g a lady got <strong>in</strong>jured and later on one school boy namely, Noor-ul-Am<strong>in</strong><br />
R/O Shajipora, Islamabad succumbed to the <strong>in</strong>juries <strong>in</strong> the hospital.<br />
HARIPORA BADGAM INCIDENT - 26.12.93, the forces killed two persons<br />
namely, Syeed Fayaz Ahmad R/O Alimnag, Behra, Badgam and Bashir Ahmad<br />
Parray R/O Nalwah, Badgam.<br />
TULAGAM, PATTAN INCIDENT - 27.12.93, the forces cordoned <strong>of</strong>f the village<br />
and killed seven persons, namely, Hafiz Ullah R/O Tulagam, Ab. Ahad Mir R/O<br />
Tewar, Pattan, Ali Mohd Dar, Mustaq Ahmad S/O Ab. Rehman R/O Tulagam, Ab.<br />
Qayoom S/O Mohd. Munawar R/O Chandhar, Pattan, Assadullah a 17 years boy<br />
and Ab. Rashid alias Nazir Hussa<strong>in</strong>. The forces after fir<strong>in</strong>g set ablaze the house <strong>in</strong><br />
which some persons were burnt alive as reported by the people <strong>of</strong> the locality.<br />
KADLABAL, PAMPORE INCIDENT - 30.12.93 dur<strong>in</strong>g crackdown operations the<br />
forces killed Mohd Shafi Mir alias Haroon Rashid R/O Pampore, Pulwama and<br />
arrested two more persons from a mosque who were made naked. One girl namely<br />
Nansi was molested by the forces.<br />
KASHMIR UNIVERSITY INCIDENT - 31.12.93, three unidentified persons<br />
kidnapped Dr. Ab. Ahad Wani (Dean faculty <strong>of</strong> Law <strong>Kashmir</strong> University and was<br />
taken to a nearby area Sadrabal, Sr<strong>in</strong>agar and was later shot dead. He was a man <strong>of</strong><br />
reputation and had earned a respectable place <strong>in</strong> the society. He was a renounced<br />
freedom fighter and was one <strong>of</strong> the person who was lead<strong>in</strong>g the present freedom<br />
struggle. The government <strong>of</strong> India is mak<strong>in</strong>g every effort to elim<strong>in</strong>ate the<br />
supporters <strong>of</strong> the freedom struggle and number <strong>of</strong> such persons namely. Dr. Ab.<br />
Ahad Guru, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Ashi and Mr. H.N. Wanchoo were killed <strong>in</strong> the<br />
same circumstances.<br />
