VIII.. CRIME STATISTICS
At first, the Malagasy Police officials were reluctant to give any
information concerning the crime rate in Madagascar. Finally, the
Minister of the Interior authorized the Director 'General to release the
document which is presented here in translated form (page 65). It was
handed to the members of the Team as they were preparing to board the
plane on their return trip.
