* 5. For administrative and-military training purposes the students
of the-Police School, both Officer Candidates and enlisted men, are
attached to the Brigade during their training course.
6.' The Brigade and Police School share a compound located about one
-mile east of-Tananarive. 'In addition to office and school-facilities,
there is a mess, billets for both single and famil4 men, motor pool and
shops for minor echelon repairs.
7. Transportation consists of one 5-ton CItroen truck with 30 troop
capacity and one 2-ton Citro'en enclosed van with 15 troop capacity.
This equipment is obviously inadequate for an outfit which is supposed
to be dispatched at a moment's notice to any location in the Republic
where their presence is necessary to the maintenance of civil order and
internal security. One third of the Brigade is on ready alert at all
times with their gear packed and prepared to move.
Si The armory is conveniently located and kept in a very orderly
manner. An experienced civilian armorer, with adequate shop facilities
and'tools, is in charge of all maintenance and repairs, (See V-E-1 for
list of arsament.)
9. The Team was very favorably impressed by the discipline, training
and general appearance of this unit.
