louis de Bernières is the award-winning author of several books including Captain<br />
Corelli's Mandolin (1994), Birds Without Wings (2004), A Partisan's Daughter (2008)<br />
and Notwithstanding: English Village Stories (2009). he dedicated his first book, The<br />
War of Don Emanuel’s Nether Parts, to “the incorrigible don Benjamin,” who here<br />
gives his account of his adventures as the author of <strong>Curucucú</strong>.
