Stop the Hate in Lawton
Lawton native, Brandon Ramirez, received a
text message that someone he had gone to high
school with had been murdered. This was not the

violence and he was outraged. So, he did what
most people would do, he posted his and outrage
on Facebook. What he didn’t know at the time was
that his post would stir a movement that would

Ramirez posted a comment
that he wanted to stop the
hate in Lawton. Friend,
Amanda Saltiel,
agreed with his
post and the two
started a dialogue
that turned into
a Stop the Hate
the Facebook
movement to stop the
Saltiel then hosted a town hall meeting at the

attendance, a two-hour discussion took place.
Who Stole the Kiszka?
by Jim Joplin

originated in Poland, and the word ‘polka’

During the middle 1800s, polka was spread

popular across Europe. The dance began its
popular run beginning in Prague, and was brought

Once it became popular in Paris, the dance

took over during the Roaring Twenties.
