The Director may allow, upon a request by the importer, entry of the<br />
consignment, in accordance with the treatment and conditions designated by<br />
him, provided that the consignment is not propagation material or pot plants.<br />
The inspector will not order the destruction of a consignment, in accordance<br />
with this regulation, unless, there is a reasonable pest risk; or, in the event that<br />
the exporter fails to remove the consignment from Israel within such time and in<br />
such manner as instructed by the inspector.<br />
2.7 Sampling Rates (on arrival)<br />
For the following commodity classes, 100% of the consignment will be inspected<br />
on arrival:<br />
propagation material<br />
fresh produce<br />
growing media<br />
For all other commodity classes a percentage of consignments will be sampled.<br />
Israel has not specified this percentage.<br />
2.8 Ports of Entry<br />
No restrictions on the port of entry for plant and plant products<br />

Principal Sea Ports<br />
Haifa<br />
Ashdod<br />
Elat<br />
2.9 Transit Requirements<br />
For all produce transitting Israel en-route to a third country, packaging must not<br />
be opened or released from customs. Shipments in transit shall be packed and<br />
sealed in such a manner as to prevent scattering<br />
