Di Piazza and Pearthree (2004) noted that the south guano camp on Enderbury was probably
partially built over an archaeological site (see Figure III-2.4). Slab remnants of prehistoric
pavements were identified within the guano camp enclosure. Detailed descriptions of the site
and slabs were provided. This was considered East Polynesian architecture.
