A. Ebihara et al.: A taxonomic revision of Hymenophyllaceae<br />

densely hairy with long bristle-like light reddish hairs. Blades tripinnate to quadripinnate,<br />

elliptic to narrowly ovate, 40 by 16 cm, venation anadromous, false veinlets<br />

absent, internal cell walls thin and straight. Sori paratactic, campanulate, lips truncate,<br />

or sometimes bilabiate, receptacles long-exserted.<br />

Distribution — The Paleotropics (Asia to the Pacific); c. 5 species.<br />

Habitat — Usually epilithic on moist rocks, occasionally epiphytic on tree trunks.<br />

Chromosome base number — x = 36.<br />

Note — Corresponding to the Ca clade in Ebihara et al. (submitted).<br />
