TRIO SETS SAIL AUGUST 10TH!!!
On a very rare occasion, a business comes into
a community and helps to redefine it and make
it better. Trio Restaurant is such a business. It
is hard to remember a time when Trio was not
one of the desert’s favorite “watering holes” and
gathering spots for tourist and locals alike! Trio
has become more than just a quality restaurant…
it is a true charitable community icon here in
Palm Springs. So when Trio announced they
were co-hosting a River Cruise, I knew it had to
be special…and it is!! Trio has teamed up with
HEARTY Restaurant of Chicago and A-ROSA
European River Cruises for a fantastic 2013
Culinary Cruise! This is going to be a very special
and “tasty” adventure!!
Date: August 10-17, 2013
Destination: sailing round-trip from Lyon on the
Rhône and Saône Rivers in the Southern French
regions of Provence and Burgundy.
Ship: Our ship will be the A-ROSA Stella, built
in 2005. With a passenger compliment of only
174, the ship has two levels of French Balcony
staterooms and one level with windows.

LYON: The old town “Vieux Lyon” features
Renaissance houses making it worthy of
being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lyon is
dubbed “la ville de gueule” – the gourmet town.
Furthermore it is known for its high-quality silk
products and the Basilica of Notre-Dame die
Fourvière above the city. Our guests are invited
to a complimentary gourmet lunch at the eatery
of famed Chef, Paul Bocuse!
MÂCON: Mâcon, on the River Saône, has a
distinctly old-world and Mediterranean feel. Home
to France’s greatest writers it is most famous for
its Burgundy wines. Sights include the Maison
de Bois, a house covered in elaborate wooden
carvings. All around you can enjoy the beautiful,
rolling countryside of the Mâconnais.
Onboard Experience:
There are many ships cruising the rivers of

rocky hills, this picturesque stone village features
an ancient castle and is famous for its fields of
lavender.
VIVIERS: Viviers is an open-air museum:
discover its history and heritage, strolling down
its narrow medieval streets. You will be stunned
by the Renaissance façade of the “Maison des
Chevaliers” (House of Knights) and you will marvel
at its cathedral, a mix of Romanesque, Gothic and
XVIII th century architecture.
ARLES: Arles is a favorite tourist destination
in Provence, made famous in recent times by
painters Van Gogh and Gaugin, but has been a

evening can always be fun!
