Bus Applications<br />
This is a reminder that bus applications for students who qualify for bussing in <strong>2011</strong>/2012 are<br />
due at the <strong>School</strong> Board Office by May 2, <strong>2011</strong>. Forms may be mailed, faxed, emailed, or<br />
dropped off in person at the school board office. If you wish to send them to school to have<br />
them faxed in that will be fine too! Thanks.<br />
Grade Seven Orientation at Ocean View<br />
Our Grade Seven Orientation Evening at Ocean View will be held on May 17 th 6:30 to 8:00 pm. We encourage<br />
parents to accompany their children.
New Principal<br />
Welcome to Mrs. Tawnie Gaudreau who will be our new school principal beginning<br />
in the <strong>2011</strong>-2012 school year. I will be retiring at the end of this school year<br />
and while I’m sad to leave all my new friends and acquaintance here at KCCS, I’m<br />
also looking forward to a change after 31 years as a teacher and principal in<br />
Powell River.<br />
Mrs. Gaudreau is currently the principal at James Thomson Elementary <strong>School</strong> in<br />
Wildwood and I know that she is excited to be moving to KCCS . We can look<br />
forward to her youth and energy to help KCCS to continue to be a great place to<br />
go to school!<br />
I have enjoyed the past five years at KCCS. It’s been a great place to spend my final years as an educator.<br />
When I first arrived, I was struck by the friendliness of the kids and the community generally. I still feel<br />
that friendliness among all the parents and children with whom I work. In fact, when talking with new or<br />
prospective parents about the school environment, it is that welcoming feeling that is still most prominent in<br />
my mind. Thanks to all of you for making KCCS the great place that it is!<br />
Cross Country<br />
Congratulations to our cross country team who made a fantastic effort at the <strong>District</strong> Cross Country Race at<br />
Sunset Park in Wildwood yesterday. All members put in a great effort and made us proud of our school!<br />
