Lighting levels recommended by CONI for outdoor sporting facilities:
A – 500 Lux for matches very well attended by the public
B – 300 Lux for amateur level matches with reduced public
C – 100 Lux for recreational matches, training, without public
As per UEFA recommendations, the lighting results of a football field must be detected in 77
equidistant points at 10 m each other, starting from the middle of the field: the average values
detected represent the average illumination over the horizontal plane (measured at 20cm from
the ground). For TV transmissions, if possible, 1500 Lux should be achieved (unevenness 0.7).
