William <strong>Lindsay</strong> died between 1705 and 1710, his<br />

wife surviving him until 1729.t They had issue<br />

(1) Mungo, <strong>the</strong> last laird.<br />

(2) James, died 1710.+<br />

(3) Alexander, apprenticed to Meikle, coppersmith,<br />

Edinburgh, 1G94.§<br />

(4) Aaue, married Sir Itobert iMaxwell <strong>of</strong> Urchanlton,<br />

with issue. II<br />

MuNGO <strong>Lindsay</strong> <strong>of</strong> WAUcnoPE and Baucloy,<br />

Twentieth TiAiRD, was in 1704 a Conunissiouer <strong>of</strong><br />

Supply for Kirkcudbrightshire. ^f In <strong>the</strong> following<br />

year he sued his fa<strong>the</strong>r for not fulfilling a covenant to<br />

enter him in <strong>the</strong> lands <strong>of</strong> Bordland and o<strong>the</strong>rs in <strong>the</strong><br />

parishes <strong>of</strong> South wick and Col vend.** On 20th August<br />

1690 hq was contracted to marry Agnes Gordon,<br />

relict <strong>of</strong> William Maxwell, bro<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> llobeit, Fourth<br />

Earl <strong>of</strong> Nithsdale.ft Agnes Gordon was daughter <strong>of</strong><br />

Alexander, Fifth Viscount Kenmure, and her contract<br />
