William Lindsay died between 1705 and 1710, his
wife surviving him until 1729.t They had issue
(1) Mungo, the last laird.
(2) James, died 1710.+
(3) Alexander, apprenticed to Meikle, coppersmith,
Edinburgh, 1G94.§
(4) Aaue, married Sir Itobert iMaxwell of Urchanlton,
with issue. II
MuNGO Lindsay of WAUcnoPE and Baucloy,
Twentieth TiAiRD, was in 1704 a Conunissiouer of
Supply for Kirkcudbrightshire. ^f In the following
year he sued his father for not fulfilling a covenant to
enter him in the lands of Bordland and others in the
parishes of South wick and Col vend.** On 20th August
1690 hq was contracted to marry Agnes Gordon,
relict of William Maxwell, brother of llobeit, Fourth
Earl of Nithsdale.ft Agnes Gordon was daughter of
Alexander, Fifth Viscount Kenmure, and her contract
