We are pleased to report that
at its July meeting Council
appointed a new Editor for the
“Heraldry Gazette”.
Dr Bernard Juby is a longstanding
member of the
Society with whom many will
be familiar. He has previous
experience of the commercial
production of in-house
magazines, and is used to
working with the software
which is the means of
compiling the “Gazette”. He
will start his new role with the
December issue, for which the
press date is 1st November. All
contributions will be welcome!
A NEW EDITOR FOR THE GAZETTE
THE HON. SECRETARY
Earlier in the year Melvyn Jeremiah indicated his intention to
retire from the post of Hon.Secretary at the end of 2009 when
he will have occupied the post for seven years. In the March and
June issues of the “Gazette” those interested in succeeding to
the post were asked to indicate their interest. At its July meeting
Council appointed John Tunesi
of Liongam as Melvyn’s
successor as Hon.Secretary from
the end of the year.
John will be well-known to
many members of the Society.
He and his wife Jane organised
the most successful conference
at FitzWilliam College,
Cambridge last year, and are
even now making preparations
for the next one to be held at
York in 2010. We wish John well
in his new role.
2009 PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION
The entry form for this year’s photographic competition is enclosed with this issue. Please note
the rules, which have changed slightly. Entries should not bear anything on the front of the mount
apart from the photograph. We look forward to receiving your entries, which should preferably
have an ironic or whimsical touch to them. If you have any questions in the meantime contact
