Once the client was added successfully, it was then modified to set the following<br />
parameters:<br />
• Number of channels<br />
• <strong>Backup</strong> level<br />
• Control file backup<br />
• Archive redo log backup<br />
• Filesperset<br />
Testing was conducted using different numbers of RMAN channels, <strong>and</strong> the Data<br />
Domain appliance was configured with two 10 GbE optical NICs <strong>for</strong> connection to the<br />
NetWorker storage nodes.<br />
The filesperset parameter was tested at default <strong>and</strong> at one. <strong>EMC</strong> recommends<br />
setting this parameter to one ensures that multiplexing is not introduced, as this has<br />
a negative effect on the deduplication rates achieved. This is explained in greater<br />
detail in the next section.<br />
