Chapter 5: Installation <strong>and</strong> Configuration<br />
Once the PowerPath Policy has been set correctly, all paths are now alive <strong>and</strong><br />
licensed. The previous image shows the powermt set policy comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> the<br />
powermt display comm<strong>and</strong> output <strong>for</strong> CLARiiON LUN 80. It lists the eight paths <strong>for</strong><br />
this device. These paths are managed <strong>by</strong> PowerPath. Since the SPA owns the LUN,<br />
the four paths to SPA are active, <strong>and</strong> the remaining paths to SPB are passive.<br />
All ASM diskgroups are then built using PowerPath pseudo names.<br />

A pseudo name is a plat<strong>for</strong>m-specific value assigned <strong>by</strong> PowerPath to the<br />
PowerPath device.<br />
