AMNH 10395. <strong>Lo</strong>cality dates to late Pliocene,<br />

3.7-3.2 Ma (Blancan III of Repenning, 1987).<br />

MEASUREMENTS OF PARATYPES.—See Table 1.<br />

ETYMOLOGY.—From Latin, concordatus, agree together or<br />

harmonize, in reference to the close similarity of the fossil material<br />

both from the two Florida localities and from Arizona.<br />

DIAGNOSIS.—Differs from Amplibuteo woodwardi (L. Miller)<br />

and A. hibbardi in the following characteristics. Carpometacarpus<br />

(UF 159426, AMNH 10395; Figure 1) with<br />

metacarpal I relatively large, with little or no proximal curvature;<br />

deep, narrow fossa present on internal surface of metacarpal<br />

I below pisiform process; internal ligamental fossa moderately<br />

to deeply excavated; and area between pisiform and
