And <strong>in</strong> the same year Ethelbert was consecrated as bishop<br />

of Whithorn, <strong>in</strong> York, on the seventeenth 6 before the Kalends<br />

In the same year, that is <strong>in</strong> the 789th year from the Lord's<br />

<strong>in</strong>carnation, Ethelbert left his see <strong>in</strong> Whithorn and received<br />

the bishopric of Hexham, which he ruled for eight years.<br />
