VICTOR LYE THIAM FATT 赖添发<br />
Community<br />
Vic<strong>to</strong>r first volunteered as a youth member at his<br />
neighbourhood Thomson constituency in 1987, organizing<br />
excursions for senior citizens. He focused on his career after<br />
the 1988 General Election.<br />
Vic<strong>to</strong>r has served in Aljunied GRC since 1999. He decided <strong>to</strong><br />
serve the community again after seeing ordinary Singaporeans’<br />
livelihoods affected by the Asian financial crisis.<br />
To meet and understand Singaporean’s basic needs, he<br />
volunteered <strong>to</strong> write petitions at <strong>Mr</strong> George Yeo’s Meet the<br />
People’s Session (MPS) in Aljunied GRC.<br />
Vic<strong>to</strong>r joined the People’s <strong>Action</strong> <strong>Party</strong> (PAP) in 2001. He was elected <strong>to</strong> the inaugural PAP<br />
Policy Forum (PPF) in 2004 and engaged in policy discussions.<br />

Professional<br />
Vic<strong>to</strong>r has more than 20 years’ experience in public policy and financial services. He began<br />
his career in 1987 as an Administrative Officer with the Singapore Civil Service, serving in the<br />
Ministry of Trade & Industry. In the private sec<strong>to</strong>r, he has held leadership positions in<br />
investment research, s<strong>to</strong>ckbroking, corporate finance, asset management and insurance.<br />
He is familiar with regional markets, having overseen business units and worked at various<br />
times in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.<br />
Vic<strong>to</strong>r is currently the Principal Officer of a healthcare insurance company.
