<strong>Pr<strong>of</strong>ile</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Shri</strong>. V. <strong>Aravind</strong> <strong>Subramanyam</strong><br />
<strong>Shri</strong>. <strong>Aravind</strong> <strong>Subramanyam</strong>, or “Sastha <strong>Aravind</strong>” as he is<br />
called fondly, is the great grand son <strong>of</strong> the famous and the revered<br />
Ayyappa devotee Sri.CV.Srinivasa Iyer (Kalpathy Chaaami Anna)<br />
who started the Pankuni Uthram festival at Shabarimalai.<br />
The influence <strong>of</strong> Ayyappa Cult and the devotional atmosphere in<br />
the house has had a lingering influence on him. Hailing from a<br />
family rich in Art / Culture and devotion - he is an ardent devotee <strong>of</strong><br />
Lord Sastha, and is the author <strong>of</strong> the First Purana <strong>of</strong> Sastha.<br />
Even at the tender age <strong>of</strong> 13, the blissful grace <strong>of</strong> Lord Ayyappa<br />
bestowed him a specific mission. The divine spark inside him fired<br />
the divine will – Now, he not only gives lectures on Sastha (Ayyappan) but, has also authored a<br />
500-page book in Tamil - A Purana in 21st century: Sri Maha Sastha Vijayam.<br />
His magnum opus <strong>Shri</strong> Maha Sastha Vijayam (Complete Purana on Lord<br />
Sastha) is worth mentioning which he considers, his life time achievement.<br />
Similar to Bhagawatha Saptaham He is the ONLY PERSON who conducts<br />
– “Sri Hariharaputra Sapthaham” – a seven days lecture series on Lord<br />
Sastha. For this he is conferred with the title “<strong>Shri</strong> Maha Sasthru Priya<br />
Dasan”<br />
"Anmiga Thagaval Pettagam"(Treasure house <strong>of</strong> Spiritual Knowledge) as<br />
he is known, he is a well-known writer with more than 150 spiritual articles<br />
and 10 books to his credit.<br />
He has written a commentary on “Boothanatha Geetha” – similar to that <strong>of</strong> Bhagawath<br />
Geetha – given Lord Ayyappa himself. This script was retireved from palm leaves and was<br />
brought to print for the first time.<br />
His article on the Historical date <strong>of</strong> Mahabharatha was translated and published in more<br />
than 10 languages.<br />
He has also written a book on Goddess Lalitha Parameshwari, the one who is praised in<br />
the Lalitha Sahasranama which was very much praised by the devotees and <strong>Shri</strong>vidya<br />
Upasakas as well. He was awarded with the title “<strong>Shri</strong>vidyopasaka Shreshta” for this<br />
work.<br />
He believes in propagating our rich Hindu Sanathana Dharma through his efforts especially to<br />
the next generation, so that our culture thrives for ages to come.<br />

<strong>Aravind</strong> <strong>Subramanyam</strong> received his MBA degree in HR as a field <strong>of</strong> specialization and also an<br />
Inter in ICWA from the Institute <strong>of</strong> Cost and Works Accountants <strong>of</strong> India. He is the Management<br />
consultant and also a corporate trainer.<br />
He is popular both among the older generation - with his depth <strong>of</strong> knowledge on various<br />
subjects, and the youth - for his penchant for new progressive ideas and modern technology.<br />
His Guru is <strong>Shri</strong> Seshadri Swamigal <strong>of</strong> Tiruvannamalai whose divine grace befell <strong>Aravind</strong> to<br />
aspire in this spiritual growth.<br />
His knowledge in Mantra Sasthra and<br />
Astrology is also note worthy. In similar line to Sri<br />
Vidya upasana – he discovered the “Nava-Avarana<br />
Puja” to Sastha and is one among the handful <strong>of</strong><br />

next generation. <strong>Shri</strong> Maha Sasthru Seva Sangam is formed by a band <strong>of</strong> youngsters who meet at<br />
one single point- devotion.<br />
It is worth mentioning that he was the first writer to write a new Purana in this century, a<br />
commendable and detailed work at this early age. For this achievement, he was chosen as the<br />
Personality <strong>of</strong> the week by “The Hindu”<br />
<strong>Aravind</strong> <strong>Subramanyam</strong> is actively involved in several<br />
cultural and philanthropic activities and is a member and<br />
