PDAC-Caracle Cup!
On behalf of the Prospectors and Developers
Association of Canada and Caracle Creek
International Consulting, I’m delighted to
welcome you to the fourth annual PDAC-
Caracle Cup Hockey Tournament, and to thank our many
corporate sponsors for their commitment to this event.
The PDAC-Caracle Cup has become an industry favourite for fun
on the ice and networking with friends and associates while
supporting a worthy cause. Teams and individuals from all facets
of the minerals industry will play on NHL- and Olympic-size ice
sheets in a modified round-robin, competing for top spots in the
final consolation and championship games. The winning team
and its players’ names will be forever enshrined on the
prestigious Caracle Cup.
Your attendance today is deeply appreciated, as it directly
supports the cause of mineral resources education for young
people. With your support, we are working to make young people
more aware of career opportunities that exist in our industry and

Rules of Play
The aim of the PDAC-Caracle Cup
Hockey Tournament is to offer a
competitive event with the ultimate
goal of having fun.
The following is a set of rules and
regulations governing play at the
tournament:
SIGN-UP: For the purposes of
insurance, all players must be at least
18 years of age. All players must fill
out the sign-up forms prior to being
allowed on the ice.
PLAYERS: Players listed on the roster
are the only players allowed to be
playing at anytime during the
tournament – no substitutions; goalies
are exempt if injured.
AFFILIATION: All players must
demonstrate a connection to the
mining and/or mineral exploration
industries.
CONDUCT: No slap shots and no
contact. Decisions of the referee are
final and are to be respected.
EQUIPMENT: Players must wear a
helmet and complete, certified
protective hockey equipment is
strongly recommended.
TIME: 40 minute running time for all
games.
PENALTIES: 3 minutes.
FINAL GAMES: If tied at end of the 3
periods of regular time, the winner will
be decided by a shoot out using NHL
rules.
Shuttle Service
A complimentary shuttle service will
run from Canlan Ice Sports to The
Fairmont Royal York at the end of the
tournament.

Developers Association of
Canada Mining Matters
Over the past decade, PDAC Mining Matters
has helped establish mineral resources
education as an important industry objective
for youth. The organization brings Earth
science to life by using age-appropriate and
scientifically accurate classroom resources
that speak about the importance of mining to
Canadian society. Our signature school
programs meet provincial curriculum
expectations for the grades in which they are
offered. We have also achieved considerable
success in promoting mining as a career
option for young people and conduct
outreach initiatives to remote Aboriginal
communities.
