SGA accomplished much<br />
this year. The year started with<br />
a cookout on the C. U. patio<br />
for freshman orientation. A<br />
very impressive 50% of the fulltime<br />
students turned out to<br />
vote in the fall election.<br />
Country Day was highlighted<br />
this year by the Gamble<br />
Rogers Concert. Barbara<br />
Frazier was crowned Miss<br />
<strong>Lake</strong>-<strong>Sumter</strong>, selected from 16<br />
contestants, while Joni Hardaway<br />
was crowned Queen of<br />
the Christmas Ball. Cindy<br />
Monn was freshman attendant.<br />
SGA's Bicentennial project<br />
included the placement of flags<br />
of the 13 original colonies beside<br />
the lake and the presentation<br />
of "Mark Twain," portrayed<br />
by John Chappell. The<br />
Alpha Omega Players returned<br />
to present "A Man For All<br />
Seasons" and "Diary of Adam<br />
and Eve."<br />
Greaser week was highlighted<br />
by the Clutch Concert featuring<br />
hits of the '50s. Money '<br />
from a Volleyball Marathon<br />
went to the Leesburg Humane<br />
Society. The Spring Picnic was<br />
held at the close of this active<br />
year.<br />
