Naiad 1976 - Lake-Sumter Community College

SGA accomplished much
this year. The year started with
a cookout on the C. U. patio
for freshman orientation. A
very impressive 50% of the fulltime
students turned out to
vote in the fall election.
Country Day was highlighted
this year by the Gamble
Rogers Concert. Barbara
Frazier was crowned Miss
Lake-Sumter, selected from 16
contestants, while Joni Hardaway
was crowned Queen of
the Christmas Ball. Cindy
Monn was freshman attendant.
SGA's Bicentennial project
included the placement of flags
of the 13 original colonies beside
the lake and the presentation
of "Mark Twain," portrayed
by John Chappell. The
Alpha Omega Players returned
to present "A Man For All
Seasons" and "Diary of Adam
and Eve."
Greaser week was highlighted
by the Clutch Concert featuring
hits of the '50s. Money '
from a Volleyball Marathon
went to the Leesburg Humane
Society. The Spring Picnic was
held at the close of this active
year.
