A child is born ­
Tiny and innocent,
Unaware of the world
Just as a flower bud opens ­
Tiny and innocent,
Unaware of the world.
A child grows up.
Large and full of life,
Yet still looking ahead.
Just as a flower grows ­
Larger and full of life
Yet still looking ahead.
The child becomes an adult ­
Full-grown and bewildered,
No longer anticipating life.
The flower has blossomed ­
Full-blown and bewildered,
No longer anticipating life.
The adult dies ­
Alone and unnoticed,
Returning to dust.
The blossom dies ­
Alone and unnoticed,
Returning to dust.

Insanity
The Patient One
I looked into the eyes
of death today,
Saw the clutching outstretched hand
and nimbly leapt away
But death only smiled,
a smile that seemed to say,
It matters not at all
what day.
Insanity: an Edgar Allan Poe satire, a yellow pond, a
telephone that rings and no one answers. Insanity is the feeling
when nothing goes right, or nothing goes wrong. Insanity
is that small degree of perfection that just shouldn't be.
Insanity is a child's imagination, a child's description
of things, even though the child is "normal."
Insanity is a word to describe me after a typical writing class.
