How effectively mother nature spreads her love,
To protect her children from extinction.
Rationing to each an equal share
Of her most attractive features -
Adding diversity to her family of life.
The majestic butterfly, in search of love,
Flutters through the autumn of his cycle,
Decked out in a coat of velvet,
Split by a network of black lines-
A web of identity to suspend his lover.
Virgin blossoms, clad in satin petals,
Dance with the wind to the tune of spring,
Flaunting their most inviting fragrance
In an attempt to lure the industrious bee­
An affair of convenience.
Possessed by these intricate works of art
I ponder man's role in nature's scheme -
By identifying my love with this exquisite beauty
I transcend our inadequate physical attractions
And make tangible, by imagery,
The portion of love other species may not enjov­
The beauty of merging minds.
