QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS for the BSPA World Championships of<br />

Colour National Champion of Champions (continued)<br />

other affiliated competitions. Under these circumstances a photocopy of the qualification<br />

card MUST be sent to the BSPA for validation, e.g. PUK, BSPS, SHB UK.<br />

3. In H<strong>and</strong> - Horses <strong>and</strong> ponies 4 years <strong>and</strong> over may be shown in a double bridle. BOTH bits<br />

must be presented <strong>and</strong> both reins must be used. Judges are asked to be especially vigilant<br />

regarding this requirement.<br />

4. Jewellery - In accordance with Health <strong>and</strong> Safety considerations no competitor may enter<br />

the ring with any ear rings or facial jewellery including tongue studs.<br />

5. Qualifying status - qualification is only valid if the BSPA Qualification card has been<br />

correctly filled in <strong>and</strong> signed by the judge. Competitors MUST ensure each horse/pony has<br />

a separate/individual card (apply show office).<br />

6. Registration & Membership - All horses must be registered with the BSPA. In order to<br />

qualify at any Qualifying Show <strong>and</strong> Owners (including Joint loan or lease arrangements),<br />

H<strong>and</strong>lers <strong>and</strong> Riders must be members of BSPA. Membership Cards <strong>and</strong> qualifying cards<br />

MUST be carried into the ring by the Rider/h<strong>and</strong>ler for the judge/steward to sign in the ring.<br />

7. In order to Qualify - ALL horses/ponies MUST be registered with the BSPA prior to the<br />

qualifying show <strong>and</strong> ALL h<strong>and</strong>lers/riders members prior to the show. At some shows<br />

competitors need not be members or horses registered with BSPA in order to enter BUT<br />

qualification is not valid under these circumstances.<br />

Classes with the exception of RIHS are open to Members <strong>and</strong> Non Members.<br />

8. Height Certificates are required for RIHS only.<br />

Shetl<strong>and</strong> Ponies do not require height certificates<br />

9. Shoeing - Horses/Ponies may be unshod at the owner’s discretion. Only normal shaped<br />

shoes that do not cover the frog are permissible. No Bar Shoes are allowed.<br />

THE BSPA SHOW COMMITTEE RESERVES THE<br />

RIGHT TO REFUSE AN ENTRY FROM ANY<br />

COMPETITOR REGARDLESS OF QUALIFYING<br />

STATUS AND ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO OFFER<br />

ANY EXPLANATION<br />
