Equifest – Summer Championship Show (East of England Show
Ground).
ALL Qualification Cards where issued MUST be in the Riders/ Handlers
possession IN THE RING and given to the Judge to sign IN THE
RING otherwise Qualification is invalid and will pass to the next
unqualified competitor under each Societies rules.
Qualification cards- are issued by each Association according to
their own rules.
Open Classes- are open to any type or colour of horse/pony,
conforming to the class description or requirement re breed type, age
or gender.
Prize Money- Where offered MUST be collected at the end of each
day (by office closure) or is forfeited. Any uncollected money will be
donated to the WHW.
Class Times- rings will commence at the times shown, thereafter,
times are dependent upon class size and Judges progress.
Abbreviations- HP= Horse/Pony h/p = Highest Placed, NB= Not
before, Y/S = Youngstock, WCC- BSPA World Championships of
Colour.

Qualification:
BSPA Qualifiers (WCC) -
1 ST -3 rd Qualify automatically.
1 st -4 th Qualify from classes of 10-12
1 st -6 th Qualify from classes exceeding 12 competitors.
OPEN CLASSES - The two Highest Placed Skewbald/Piebald qualify
BSPA (WCC)
BSHA Novice - Any Skewbald/Piebald placed 1-6 qualify BSPA (WCC)
BSPA -RIHS – The 1 st placed and the next unqualified competitor
standing 2 nd or 3 rd .
BSHA- RIHS- Hacks, Cobs and Riding Horses, the 1 st in each weight
category will qualify. If they have already qualified then the 2 nd place
may qualify and the 3 rd place if 2 nd place has already done so.
BSHA- National Championship Show. 1-3 rd prize winners in
classes 31,32,34,35 & 40 will qualify for the National Championships
Classic Supreme Classes.
Equifest – The 3 highest placed exhibits not already qualified
P(UK) 1 st , 2 nd & 3 rd placed exhibit will qualify in classes. Qualification
will pass no lower than 3 rd place.
BSPA MEMBERS ARE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR WCC FROM ALL
CLASSES IN THIS SCHEDULE AS ABOVE.

DEFINITIONS:-
BRITISH COLDBLOODS - defined as...
A Horse or Pony that does not have American, Continental, TB or Arab
bloodlines within their first and second generation, sire and dam lines unless
they are BSPA Stud Book verified, conforming to Part Bred definition below..
The type more usually represents the hardy and thrifty indigenous British stock
of Draught, Native and Vanner types and PB's. Requiring significant trimming
and tiding unless being shown as a Traditional. Unknown parentage does not
confirm any Coldblood origins. More frequently now they will have proven
parentage.
PART BRED AND FIRST CROSS BRITISH COLDBLOODS - Verified
Breeding
British Coldblood first cross (first generation) horses and ponies MUST have a
minimum of 50% verified Coldblood breeding from their first generation sire or
dam lines. AND part bred not less than 60% accumulated via both first and/or
second generations. B.S.P.A. Stud Book and Registration records will confirm
eligibility and status.
AMATEUR OWNER/PRODUCER/RIDER Ridden & In-Hand.
All Horses or Ponies in this section MUST be owned, registered, produced and
ridden by the owner or their son/daughter/grandchild/brother/sister. Nor must
the exhibitor earn their primary living from a stud or other equestrian or
competitive discipline. Nor must they be a trainer or producer for reward or
hire. Horses/Ponies MUST NOT have been stabled in a livery since 1 st January
or stabled with a trainer during 2011 except in the case of a Broodmare. DIY
livery is acceptable. Exhibitors will be registered Members who have either
been issued with a blue amateur status qualification card or who are so
classified on the BSPA membership database.
DOPE TESTING Random testing- will occur at this year’s Festival.
Any horse/pony identified for testing MUST present themselves at the required
time in the special area provided. Refer Rule 33 (page 15-17 of Rulebook).
Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification.

General Showing Rule 69. Failure to comply with the dress code will

are attending being disqualified. Refer Rule Book Rules 68/69 Page 22.

The videoing (by any means including the use of mobile phones) of any
class or animal whilst competing in a class is forbidden unless
permission has been sought from the Show Directors. Passes will be
issued and MUST be shown upon request.

BSPA ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW QUALIFIERS 2012
Skewbald and Piebald Horses only may compete. All Horses/Ponies must be
Registered with BSPA in order to compete and a competitor qualification card
issued prior to this show.
Classes 20 -26 incl. are held under the rules and requirements of the BSPA,
refer showing card. 1 class only may be entered.
Qualification RIHS: 1 st place and the next unqualified competitor standing
2 nd or 3 rd in all classes. No competitor may qualify from lower than third place.
Qualification cards MUST be brought into the ring by riders and given to the
judge to sign whilst rosettes are being awarded. Failure to present Q card
invalidates any qualification, which is handed down in the ring to the next
unqualified competitor standing no lower than 3rd place.

BRITISH SHOW HORSE ASSOCIATION
ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW AND BSHA NATIONAL
CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIERS:
Classes 27 – 42 are held under the rules and jurisdiction of the
British Show Horse Association (BSHA). Copies of rules to be obtained from
them.
RIHS qualifying classes: Held under the rules of the BSHA. Horses must be
registered with the Association and all owners, exhibitors and riders must be
Association members. Riders must be 15 years of age and over.
Classes 31,32,34,35,37,38 & 40 are qualifiers for the Royal International Horse
Show. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified
the second will qualify, if the first and second are already qualified then the third
will go forward.
The three highest placed prize winners in all open affiliated classes will qualify to
compete in the BSHA Classic Supreme Classes at the National Championship Show
September 7th & 8th.
The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Rider and Amateur rosette in each open class and
a Championship rosette for each section.
ENTRIES ON THE DAY: will be taken on the payment of an additional £20
per class and the production of ALL relevant documentation as above.

BSPA ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW QUALIFIERS 2012:
Skewbald and Piebald Horses only may compete. All Horses/Ponies must be
Registered with BSPA in order to compete and a competitor qualification card
issued.
Classes 81-84 incl. are held under the rules and requirements of the BSPA,
refer showing card and page 2 of schedule. 1 class only may be entered.
Qualification RIHS: 1 st place and the next unqualified competitor standing
2 nd or 3 rd in all classes. No competitor may qualify from lower than third place.
Qualification cards MUST be brought into the ring by riders and given to the
judge to sign whilst rosettes are being awarded. Failure to present Q card
invalidates any qualification, which is handed down in the ring to the next
unqualified competitor standing no lower than 3rd place.
Qualification also BSPA/ WCC: 1-3 in all classes.
