We may make the following observations:
1. It is unlikely that the author/editor composed this section by
means of algebra. The letters are simply a means of forming hypotheses
concerning the plan he had in mind. A repeated word may occur a
second time because the first occasion sets off conscious or unconscious
associations. The word is not likely to be very significant for the
structure if this is the case. A word, therefore, is to be regarded as
more important if the second occurrence is:
