This is a collection of miscellaneous notes taken about the subject of
Prophecy, and its various aspects, to help better understand what it is and
how to use it.
Some Keys to Prophecy:
Obedience to God, and being held accountable.
o Obey the Law/His Word (obey even when you're afraid, if you step
out in faith God will meet you half way)
Love the Lord your God with all your heart
Galatians 5:14 Love your neighbor as yourself
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: "You
shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Romans 13:8-10 by loving others, we are loving God, & by
loving God we are fulfilling all 10 commandments.
Exodus 20:1-17 Obey the 10 Commandments
1 Corinthians 14
o Follow after love, and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially
that you may prophesy.
Desire it that you may first glorify God, not yourself.
And second that you may edify (build up), exhort (call near), &
Console (cheer up) others.
Prerequisites:
o Read, learning, studying, watching
o Training, practice
o Probationary trial
o Apprenticeship, Mentoring
Learn/Know the Bible by reading, listening to, & memorizing it.
1 Peter 1:10 Seek out God
o Concerning this salvation, the prophets sought and searched
diligently, who prophesied the grace that would come to you.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing
o This is talking to God; you need to talk to him, if you expect him to
talk to you.
o When He talks to you, you need to listen by reading/listening to His
word (the Bible)
Luke 11:9 Be persistent for the Gifts of the Spirit.
