<strong>to</strong> coyotes increased after 1972 going from 0.25 percsnc in 1972, <strong>to</strong><br />

0.42 percent in 1974 and 1975, 0.48 percent in 1977, and <strong>the</strong>n declining<br />

<strong>to</strong> 0.13 percent in 1979 and increasing <strong>to</strong>.0.33 percent and 0.28 percent<br />

in 1580 and 1981 , respctively . He was <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>the</strong> opi ni<strong>on</strong> that <strong>the</strong>se<br />

figures, which include <strong>on</strong>ly ADC c<strong>on</strong>firned losses, supported <strong>the</strong><br />

effectiveness <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> 1080 in reducing predati<strong>on</strong>. He attributed che decline<br />

in predati<strong>on</strong> after 1977 <strong>to</strong> a harsh winter and an increased harvest <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

coyotes for <strong>the</strong>ir pelts.<br />
