to coyotes increased after 1972 going from 0.25 percsnc in 1972, to
0.42 percent in 1974 and 1975, 0.48 percent in 1977, and then declining
to 0.13 percent in 1979 and increasing to.0.33 percent and 0.28 percent
in 1580 and 1981 , respctively . He was <strong>of</strong> the opi nion that these
figures, which include only ADC confirned losses, supported the
effectiveness <strong>of</strong> 1080 in reducing predation. He attributed che decline
in predation after 1977 to a harsh winter and an increased harvest <strong>of</strong>
coyotes for their pelts.
