Increase sward output by up to 44%
For many years grassland farmers have accepted that productivity will fall over the
lifetime of a sward. This fall can be as much as 50% in terms of animal performance.
Weed grasses play a major role in this as they affect yield but more importantly the quality of the grass. This problem cannot
be controlled by chemical sprays but with good grassland management which includes regular overseeding. young swards
can be maintained in peak production for much longer than previously expected.
• the leybooster overseeding system promotes
the method of routine scarifying and overseeding
of young grassland to prevent premature ageing
• the leybooster overseeding system significantly
improves the productive life and quality of a
sward with yield and quality improvements of
up to 44%
iseed ® makes
overseeding with
leybooster even better
A significant increase in viable plants
was the outcome when iSeed ® was
added to the already successful
Leybooster overseeding mixture range.
New trial results confirm that overseeding pays.
Furthermore the results can be dramatically
improved when using iSeed ® . This trial was
conducted in Holland where some grass fields
were suffering badly following an unusually
hard winter.
• the leybooster overseeding system is based
on preventing weed grass ingress that leads
to rapid sward decline in later years
• the leybooster overseeding system works
by annually topping up young swards with
productive ryegrass and clover, therefore
preventing weed grasses from developing
within the sward
Number of new emerged plants/m2 by overseeding in Perennial Ryegrass March 17th 2010. Number of plants was counted April 6th and
13th 2010. A grassland harrow with seeding equipment and Vredo diskdirect driller were used in this trial. Trials in Holland, DLF-TRIFOLIUM.
