Special-request chloral hydrate soil <strong>PESs</strong> confirmed<br />
the presence of chloral hydrate at the site.<br />
<strong>QATS</strong> also developed a method for the extraction and<br />
analysis of chloral hydrate in soil.<br />
Presence of chloral hydrate resulted in the identification<br />
of a new responsible party (PRP).<br />
Large amount of chloroform at the site led to suspicion<br />
that breakdown of chloral hydrate was the cause – PES<br />
usage helped confirm this.<br />
Region was prepared to abandon efforts for chloral<br />
hydrate detection until provided with the <strong>PESs</strong> and<br />
method.<br />
Pesticide <strong>PESs</strong> with 2,4’-DDT, -DDD, and -DDE are now<br />
standard <strong>QATS</strong> <strong>PESs</strong> due to additional requests.<br />
