Buccal cavity and pharyngeal pump transport liquid food into the (esophagus.
(Esophagus - extends through the head and then divides into two branches.
The first and more direct branch leads to the proventriculus and the other
more slender one connects with the crop or food reservoir.
Proventriculus - small muscular tubular or sac- Qr disk-like organ without
grinding surfaces and usually with a valve.
Crop or food reservo'ir - normally present, rarely absent in some families;
appears to be an enlargement of the branch of the cesophagus; simple,
