5. Pectinate - comb-like, in which one or two margins of the segments may
be prolonged into slender processes like a comb. In COLEOPTERA,
LEPIDOPTERA.
6. Flabellate - a pectinate type in which the processes are very long and
together form a fan-shaped organ. In STREPSIPTERA.
7. Plumose - a pectinate type in which the processes are fine and are
feather-like or plume-like. In DIPTERA, LEPIDOPTERA.
8 Whorled - usually a setiform, filiform, moniliform type with one or
more whorls of hairs around each segment. In D IPTERA (NEMATO-
