Andrew Tu<strong>do</strong>r concludes:<br />

Most uses of genre effectively invent answers to such questions by implicitly<br />

claiming to tap some archetypal characteristic of the genre, some universal human<br />

response. This depends on the particular context of the assumptions employed and<br />

on a more general <strong>no</strong>tion of film language. To leap in with genre immediately is to<br />
