Although we believe that most all special abilities can be developed, we also believe that each person is
born with unique gifts of their own that they should concentrate on.
Why not use the natural talents and abilities the Divine gave you, instead of wishing you had the gifts
that others were given? There's a happiness that comes from being true to yourself, and using your
personal strengths to lift up and improve that which is around you. Perhaps about now, you may be
thinking that you have no special talents or abilities, but is that really true? Just because you can't see into
the future or heal the sick, doesn't mean you haven't been given a special ability. There are many kinds of
gifts. When you discover what yours are, and use them to enrich that which is around you, the results can
be just as miraculous and magical as those that Hollywood and the Press glorify.
Most of us don't realize the full impact we have on the world around us. We don't think twice about our
daily words and actions, which often have a major impact on the lives of others. What does this have to
do with special gifts and magical powers? Magic is not just the waving of arms and incantations or
spells. It is the ability to influence or change states of mind at will. A simple kind act or a few
encouraging words can have a major impact on a persons life... as can a few harsh words or a cruel act. Is
this not magic?
The greatest magician or miracle worker I know of was Jesus. It appeared he could physically heal
people with a simple touch. However, if you read the scripture carefully, in virtually every recorded
miracle, his words indicated that it was an individual's FAITH that healed. The person's belief that it was
possible, allowed it to happen! Thus one might say it was his ability to influence the person's state of
mind that resulted in the healing.
This ability was a Divine gift. While you may not have the power to physically heal with your hands...
you certainly have the ability to heal the heart or spirit with your words and actions. What is it YOU do
that has an impact on the lives of others? Are you a good cook? Can you bring a smile to someone's face
with a special treat? Are you blessed with patience? Do you enjoy spending time playing games with
children? (There are few blessings as wonderful and magical as a child's smile!) Your TIME should also
be seen as a gift that you can share. Spend a few moments visiting with someone who is shut in or lonely,
and you'll learn what true magic is. There's no doubt that a little of your time can influence and actually
change a person's life! It's a power that you should not take lightly.
To discover what your personal gifts are, think about what comes easy to you. What do you enjoy doing?
What things have you done on the past that have left you feeling good inside afterwards? These things
are clues to your natural gifts and abilities. You can then use this knowledge to influence and enrich the
world around you in a positive way. You may think your gift is not as exciting or dramatic as those
possessed by others... but just try telling that to those whose life you've touched!
