For more than a quarter century the 

New England artist has been making 

museum-quality interpretations of old- 

time dolls and toys, especially those 

signature American dolls of the 19th 

century. Dollmasters is honored to 

offer five dolls from the Early American 

series, made entirely by hand and 

costumed in the artist’s studio. Each 

is of fine homespun stiffened fabric, 

with painted hair and facial features 

(just like the originals), and with stitch- 

jointed homespun body. We have only

cars which were actually used by hobbyists to race 

around specially designed wooden tracks at speeds 

approaching 150 miles per hour. Incredibly detailed and

pioneering technology of the era. Our reproduction is

the Petersen 

family since 1972. Annette Petersen crafted 

her first little mouse nearly four decades 

ago, and today is joined in the wee mouse 

world by Annette, Willy and Donna, the next 

generation of Petersens. They describe their 

creative process this way. "We make the mold, 

cast it, and a little mouse begins to emerge. 

Meticulous hand-painting and an enormous 

amount of patience and time brings each 

sculpture to life". All of the Wee Forest Folks 

are hand-crafted entirely in the small town of 

Carlisle in eastern Massachusetts.

What Does Bonzo Know? Why do some comic 

characters capture our imagination for decades and 

decades after their creation? Is it their devil-may-care 

manner? Their sense of the ridiculous? And why is it 

that most of these characters are animals - especially 

cats or dogs? Bonzo is one, for certain, a pudgy 

spotted pup created by George Studdy of England 

in the 1920's. Bonzo became so popular that he 

appeared in books, figurines, clocks, postcards and 

pintrays. The antique collectibles are very expensive, 

if you can find them. But here's good news! Now a 

German porcelain firm, under license, is re-creating 

several Bonzo porcelain figures they originally made 

in the 1920's.
