■ Tillamook Co: Hunters with geese<br />

must check out at a station located at<br />

the ODFW North Coast Watershed<br />

District Office located at 4907 Third St,<br />

Tillamook .<br />

SPECIAL REGULATIONS<br />

Only persons who have passed a goose<br />

identification test provided by the <strong>Oregon</strong><br />

or Washington <strong>Department</strong>s <strong>of</strong> <strong>Fish</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>Wildlife</strong> from 1996 - 2013 may be certified<br />

to hunt geese . Hunters must possess a<br />

valid <strong>Oregon</strong> 2012/13 NW Goose Permit<br />

<strong>and</strong> Daily NW Goose Harvest Report<br />

Form while hunting geese . The permit will<br />

be valid until the permit holder has taken<br />

the season limit <strong>of</strong> one dusky Canada<br />

goose or has committed one <strong>of</strong> the<br />

following violations:<br />

■ Hunting geese on closed days .<br />

■ Failure to have a valid daily harvest<br />

report form in possession while<br />

hunting .<br />

■ Failure to immediately record goose<br />

harvest while in the field .<br />

■ Failure to check harvested geese at<br />

the appropriate check station(s) .<br />

The <strong>Department</strong>'s decisions concerning<br />

invalidation <strong>and</strong> participation can be appealed<br />

through a contested case hearing<br />

if requested within 10 days after notice .<br />

NOTE: Hunters who have their permit<br />

invalidated for taking a dusky Canada<br />

goose or committing one <strong>of</strong> the first three<br />

violations above may obtain a new permit<br />

for the 2013/14 season by retaking <strong>and</strong><br />

passing the NW goose identification test<br />

after the 2012/13 season . Hunters failing<br />

to properly check harvested geese at the<br />

appropriate check station(s) will have their<br />

permit invalidated through the 2013/14<br />

season . A new permit for the 2014/15<br />

season can be obtained by retaking <strong>and</strong><br />

passing the NW goose identification test<br />

after the 2013/14 season .<br />

REPORTING HARVESTED GEESE<br />

Upon taking a goose, a hunter must<br />

immediately record the date, time <strong>of</strong><br />

the harvest, <strong>and</strong> initial the daily harvest<br />

report form with ink in the space<br />

provided . All hunters who harvest geese<br />

must checkout by proceeding to the<br />

appropriate check station(s) immediately<br />

upon leaving the field . Hunters must<br />

then present all geese <strong>and</strong> daily harvest<br />

report form on which geese are recorded<br />

to ODFW check station personnel on<br />

the same day that the geese were<br />

harvested . When presented, geese must<br />

be intact <strong>and</strong> fully feathered <strong>and</strong> must<br />

be inspected <strong>and</strong> tagged by authorized<br />

ODFW personnel prior to leaving the<br />

check station . A replacement harvest<br />

report form will then be given to the<br />

hunter during checkout .<br />

CHECK STATTION HOURS<br />

Successful hunters may not check out<br />

<strong>of</strong> an area until check stations open at<br />

10:00 a .m . <strong>and</strong> must check out daily by<br />

5:30 p .m .<br />

It is your responsibility to keep updated on goose hunting closures.<br />

Please call 1-800-708-1782, or visit our Web site at<br />

www.dfw.state.or.us/resources/hunting/waterfowl<br />

before each hunting trip for updated information.<br />

OBTAINING A PERMIT<br />

Hunters with valid certification may<br />

obtain a Northwest Goose Permit <strong>and</strong><br />

an attached harvest card from any POS<br />

agent or online . Please note a $2 agent<br />

fee does apply . Duplicate goose hunting<br />

permits <strong>and</strong> harvest cards may only<br />

be obtained at ODFW's headquarter's<br />

<strong>of</strong>fice, region <strong>of</strong>fices <strong>and</strong> some district<br />

<strong>of</strong>fices . Washington state hunters who<br />

successfully complete an exam in<br />

Washington can call 360-902-2515 <strong>and</strong><br />

get information needed to show pro<strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> receiving a Washington permit . Mail<br />

or fax (503-947-6330) pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> receiving<br />

a Washington permit <strong>and</strong> an <strong>Oregon</strong><br />

permit will be processed . If you do not<br />

have an <strong>Oregon</strong> hunting license please<br />

also include your date <strong>of</strong> birth . If you<br />

have never had an <strong>Oregon</strong> hunting or<br />

fishing license, please email license .<br />

work-days after which time your permit<br />

will be made available at any <strong>Oregon</strong><br />
